Moonlight on the Horizon Own work

The night is “chilly”. Another one of my walks in the evening. Everything seems ordinary, yet tonight it is somehow sublime. At some point, I reach one of the signs along the beach saying gate 40. The moon is shining bright on the ocean horizon.

I have passed that sign many times before, only tonight I paid more attention to it than usual. Could it be a sign? I am almost 40 myself.

The tide was increasing. One has to wonder at one time in their life: What have I accomplished so far and what is still missing?

Somewhere, in the dark of the night hidden behind life’s daily plight. She is hidden away. I am sure one fine day or night with a high tide she will come, my long lost spiritual bride… The question remains: “When she does, will our two worlds merge or collide?!”

Desire is like a children’s want for a toy. Once you get what you long for the appeal drops. Will the roses of my passion die like withered crops, once she appears?! Oh, how solitude and pain can make one’s soul rise. One has to then ask the question: “Are we in it for the chase or the main prize?!”

What if the moonlight can project to her my heart’s desire and my emotion? Will…
